one of the greatest voices i ever heard in my life
Many of us who sing in the church have traditionally sang and hoped the pianist could remotely keep up. This does not have to be this way at all! Keep in mind that a good pianist could make the singer. That’s right, there are some pianists who can bring the song out of the average singer. Holy Ghost filled folk only have the follow the utterance of the Holy Ghost and feel thier way through the song. A PROFESSIONAL PIANIST IS NOT NECCESSARILY THE BEST PIANIST FOR YOUR STYLE!
I sang at weddings in Tennessee; therefore, I will say this based on what I know. I heard Antwaun sang “My Soul Loves Jesus,” and he emotionalized the song all the way through. On this one, he cannot glide because the MUSIC or the PIANIST is all over the place. I stopped a pianst once while singing a special and told her that I would continue acapella. This is a very “Affective” song, which makes it extremely important for the musician be on the same page as the singer.
Beautiful rendition! Go Antwaun!!
what is “meslima” lol
Damn fine soulful voice!
I love this negro spiritual no matter who sings it but sometimes the runs and melisma takes away from it a little.
Yes this song is awesome!! My name is Harold Perry and I accompanied Antwaun on piano…this is a beautiful piece
I love this version Antwaun. I have been listening to it nearly all day.
