Welcome to the Children's Department of the Hartford City Public Library. In addition to our great selection of books, our Children's Department also has audio books on cd and cassette. We have games to play on our computers. We do not provide internet in our area. Check out our changing windows! Andrea and Amy like painting on them, so they change with every holiday and season.
Summer Reading; We had 100 children sign up for the Be Creative @ Your Library Summer Reading Program.
Megan Holst read the most pages and was the winner of a Express Yourself T-Shirt, Dawn Shively came in second and won an Express Yourself book bag.

Listening Center now in Children’s Department!
Our new center is a gift from the Friends of the Library. Please ask a librarian for assistance BEFORE using the listening center. Recommended for grades kindergarten through fifth grade.We have two tubs containing book/cassette kits for young patrons to listen to while visiting the library. These kits are also available for checkout.
